No, I'm not saying that you are crazy if your boss is crazy. I'm also not saying that if you are crazy, your boss goes crazy. Nor am I saying that you are both equally crazy.
Your boss is crazy...
If he does not engage all his staff and bring the best out of everybody and that includes including you as the human resource manager in decisions pertaining people.
Your boss is crazy...
If he thinks that HR only has one role. To be an order taker and to do the same payroll, rewards, hiring and firing thing again and again every month.
Your boss is crazy...
If he thinks that learning is an expense. Maybe someone should show him the expense for ignorance.
Your boss is crazy...
If he thinks that leaders and sales people are born not made. (yes, my ex-boss is crazy)
You are crazy...
If you do not engage all of your staff and bring out the best of everybody and that includes challenging the boss in his perceptions and current human resource practices. If your boss is not a better person or a better leader when you are around, there is no point to be there.
You are crazy...
If you think your role is only that of an order taker. You have the power to shape lives. USE IT!

If when the boss says there is no budget for training and you say "yes boss".
You are crazy...
If you don't do everything you can to empower and educate people to be the best that they can be. Or better.
By the way, it's ok to be crazy... Just don't stay there.
