Seven Surefire Ways to Inspire a High Performance Employee

A high performing employee goes above and beyond every day at work. He doesn't expect just a paycheck but he needs fostering in an electrifying work environment too. It takes a lot for a leader to fuel the fire of such a star employee. A high performance employee is a gift when it comes to getting results.
Only a successful leader will have the capability to use positive reinforcement and gain a desired behavior from a high performance employee. The leader will have great ideas to cultivate an environment that inspires a star performer. He should use the personal attributes that he possesses to match his authority while tending a team of high performers.

There are certain surefire ways to keep a high performer inspired towards high end results like:
  • Recognize the high performing employee when he catches a production error. You can award him with a 'Great Catch Certificate'.
  • Recognize him when he comes up with suggestions that save the company's money. Circulate a brief write up in form of a newsletter about the employee's ideas and how it will benefit the company.
  • Give him a 'thank you' in form of merchandise when he performs a job well.
  • Invest in a career development class for him. Let him know that if he is willing to invest more time on the company's welfare, the company is ready to invest on him. Allow him to attend seminars, the team building and communication skill gatherings etc. He can make a review report and present it in the staff meeting later.
  • Draw the best out of him by lighting a fire in him and not beneath him. He needs all that pepping up to feel motivated on his ventures.
  • Use the strategy of pay and compensation that he so much deserves as the star employee of the company.
